Day Three.....Caching, Bears, and a never ending train ride.

Our day started out with Geo Caching; compliments of the Karstens. For those of you who do not know what this is here is a quick explanation. It's like a scavenger hunt assisted by gps coordinates. The one we did began with a puzzle involving Star Wars trivia. The many hours spent by Dalton reading Star Wars books really came I handy. The answers led us on a hike off the side of highway 244, which led us up a small mountain with a beautiful view. The cache was a small box hidden in a cliff filled with small trinkets for the kids. There was also a note book that people before us signed. This cache has been there since 2009. I highly recommend trying this.
We then went to Bear Country. This is a drive through zoo where the bears come right up to the car. Super cool. I wanted to smear peanut butter on the outside of the van but Doug wouldn't let me.
From there we went to a small town to ride the 1880 steam train. Sounded like a relaxing ride through the mountains. Unfortunately it was two hours that seemed like six. The most interesting part was watching the engine pull up to the station. A few times Elyse tried to escape out the window. I'm sure the other passengers were ready for us to jump. Sometimes I forget how crazy we must appear to the common bystander. We did however find a great fudge shop on the way back to camp. ;)
