Last night was....interesting. It began with a downpour while we were eating dinner at the cafe in the campground. Thankfully our tent is waterproof. I did feel the hotel card sneaking out of my back pocket, but the radar looked ok so we decided to stick it out. Did you know 30 mile/hr winds do not show on the radar map? After prayers and settling down the wind really picked up. A few times the side of the tent was inched from my face. As I lay there wide awake wondering if we would wake to munchkin land, my children sleep innocently and my husband adds a soft snore. This is all brought to an abrupt end when the rain tarp blows off with a loud tearing sound. This was enough to wake everyone but Elyse. I instantly jump off my cot to try and cover my children from impending doom. (Sometimes I'm a little dramatic when I'm sleep deprived). A few seconds later Doug, the calming vice of reason assures us that we are ok.
The next morning we got a late start for our marathon drive across Wyoming. Not much to say about the day other than I gave myself a manicure with Doug's Swiss army knife. Check that off my bucket list. ;)
So glad you were safe. I am loving following your trip! Love to you all. And yes, "God bless it all!" Love that lady too.
